OBITUARY: No date on obituary.
Lela Abbott Thornton, 42, wife of Lambert Thornton of Springfield died Wednesday at the Las Animas General Hospital.
Lela had been in poor health for several months and just a few days before her death she was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Lela was born at Marseilles, Illinois on October 19, 1893. When she was about five, she moved with her parents to the state of Kansas. She lived there until August 4, 1912. She married Lambert Thornton at Plains, Kansas.
They went to Amarillo, Texas to live and about 3 years before she died they moved back to Springfield.
They had one son Jack Thornton and one granddaughter Barbara Jean.
She was a member of the Church of Christ."
