DEATH:
Obituary from The Ottawa Free Trader, December 19, 1891
"Death has again been in our midst. Mr. Abbott died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. William Brooker, December 14, aged about 92 years. He was the oldest person in Fall River.
He was buried from the residence December 16. He had been helpless for some time."

NAME:
Mary Ann married Isaac Abbott under the name of MARY ANN MOORE. This was her surname from a previous marriage. I have not found her maiden name. (HHH)
She had two daughters from this marriage:
Sarah Elizabeth Moore b. abt 1834 in New Jersey
Martha Moore b. abt 1836 in New Jersey - (cannot find any information about this supposed daughter)
On 1850 Census, Haverstraw, New York, John Black (75 yrs) was living with Sarah Moore and Michael Bateman. States he was born 1775 in England.

DEATH:
Death Record of Mary Ann Abbott: "Mary Ann Abott, housekeeper, died Nov 21 1879 at 5:30 pm. She was married living at Fall River, Illinois. She died from Chronic Bronchitis.
She was buried at Cumberland Cemetery, Undertaker was S. Zimmerman. She had lived in LaSalle County 24 years."

Next to the Cumberland Cemetery was the Hudson Congregation of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. NE 1/4 NW1/4 Section 18.
However, when we searched the cemetery we were not able to locate her grave or a marker.
From Mary Ann's death record their family came to Illinois in 1855.

Information from pension records
BIRTH:
Age a discrepancy: Marriage license states he was 29 in 1975. ( Doc #1, Livingston Co.)
which means his year of birth would be 1846.
Declaration for pension states birthday as January 28, 1838.
Obituary said birth date is Feb 8 1837.
Obituary said he was born in New York, but census records state New Jersey.
In Pension papers there is a written statement saying there is" no public record known to him giving date of his birth and that -----investigation he finds there is no baptismal or family record of any kind now in existence showing the date of his birth."
From a newspaper of Sept 12, 1909, Viola Hintze copied an obituary. These facts were in it:
"7:00 last Sunday evening, Thomas Abbott passed away at his home in this city. Mr. Abbott was born in New York state Feb 8, 1837 and died Sept 12 1909. At 10 years of age he moved with his parents to Illinois where he resided until 1883. On August 18, 1875 at Pontiac, Illinois, he was married to Mrs. Mellisa Kennedy. To this union were born 6 children, 3 of whom, with the aged wife, survive and were at his bedside at the time of his death. Mr. Abbott came to Furnas County in 1883 and has resided near Edison till the past 3 years, during which he has been a resident of our city."
